When it comes to being one of the world's most prominent fashion icons, Dita Von Teese takes a different route with her style. Known as the undisputed International Queen of Burlesque, Von Teese is a retro pin-up girl brought to life. Constantly looking flawless and fabulous, she has traveled the world as a burlesque diva. She has topped numerous best dressed lists and walked the catwalk for fashion bigwigs such as John Paul Gaultier.

With the air of a Hollywood star from a bygone age, all lustrous retro waves, black-winged eyes and pillarbox red lips - the 38 year old burlesque star is arguably the face -- and body -- of burlesque's modern day reinvention, but making the transition from pin-up poster girl to ultimate showgirl was by no means easy. She has almost 20 years of performing under her garter belt today.

Dita's fascination with the pin-up era is well documented.
